How can I squeeze every mile out of every gallon of gas?
Have your vehicle’s computer system scanned and check the TAP & CVI values. These will tell you if the transmission is starting to slip. Check the torque converter lock-up system is working correctly to make sure the lock-up is coming on and controlling the slippage properly.

Also remember these very important points that will ensure you are getting the best possible gas mileage out of your vehicle;

Check your tire pressure’s regularly (everytime you fill up).  Running on low or uneven tire pressures will increase the work your engine has to do and use more gasoline (the recommended pressures can be found on your drivers door jam).  Check your wheel alignments and your vehicles air filter.  All these items will lead to higher gas consumption.

Watch your top speed. Even small increases in your road speed can mean much larger increases in engine power required, thus you will consume considerably more gasoline. Buy the “Cheap Gas”. Don’t pay for the premium gas unless your vehicle manual recommends it. After market “Fuel Saving” devices are a waste of time on fuel injected cars and trucks.  Given a week or two the vehicles computer will have retuned the fuel mixture back to where it belongs anyway. Keep your engine regularly tuned up. This will reward you when filling up at the pump.
